Hey everybody, welcome to our mini-series with Ted Moss over at Virteom. Today we're here with Jessie from Westside Roofing. This video is apart of our mini-series, and today we're going to be telling your customers what makes Westside Roofing great, and what sets them apart from the competition.

Specialty Roofing – Attention to Detail

This was a specialty roof we did a few years back. You can tell right from the top the specialty shingle is more like a 50-year shingle. Standard shingle is typically around 30 years. You can see from the design of the shingle that it is doing more than just protecting the home, it adds a bit more flare to the house. As you look at this photo, you will see the copper flashing. The copper flashings were part of the specialty crew — we had to come in behind the roof and put those flashings up and really make the house stand-out.

It's really sharp, even above the bay window — it's a nice house.

Keeping The Worksite Clean

So there is probably a lot of prep work that goes into that? Can you tell me a little about that? Well, yeah. We can talk about that — here, you're looking at a Church that Westside Roofing did, and what you'll first notice is the Equipter — it's a mobile trash unit — so it keeps everything clean. It's less labor on the crew, and you're able to keep away that debris. After that Equipter is used, it then lowers to the ground and then we take it to our main dumpster. So as you can see it really helps with the clean-up, keeping the grounds a lot cleaner, and overall makes the project run a lot smoother.

Safe Roof Installations

So I guess safety is an issue to? It seems like you have some harnesses and things up there. Yes, safety is a top priority. We always want to be compliant with OSHA code. We always have the guys harnessed off, tied-off, Jackson boards, matter, three rings above the gutter edge. All of those things are taken into consideration as we're installing a new roof.

It seems like you guys are thorough, it seems like you guys clean-up. I'm not gonna find nails and shingles laying on the ground. Yeah, you're absolutely right. We have magnets we carry around to make sure we clean up. It's one of our top priorities to leave the ground much cleaner than we found it.
