West Side Roofing Co. was established in 1931. Serving Cleveland and the surrounding area…and located just west of Cleveland, “West Side Roofing” seemed like the perfect name! Since the beginning, West Side Roofing has worked in all phases of the roofing industry – both residential and commercial. To this day, it remains one of the oldest roofing companies in Northeast Ohio.
During the 1950’s, Bud ‘Papa’ Spacek was a young slate and tile apprentice. In the early 1960’s, the owner of West Side Roofing became ill and searched for someone to take over the business. Bud and a partner became the best fit. Bud continued to grow the business thru the 1960’s and 1970’s; and in the early 1980’s, was sole owner of West Side Roofing.
Bud was blessed with three sons, two of them were Jamie and Chris. In 1984, upon graduation from college, Jamie joined the West Side family full-time. Jamie assisted Bud in the growth of the company. In 1988, Chris also joined forces with the family business. Jamie would concentrate on the commercial side of the business, while Chris would focus on the residential side. Over the course of time and after five decades in the industry, Bud took a well-deserved “step back” and turned things over to Jamie and Chris.
Under Jamie and Chris’s leadership, West Side Roofing grew to new heights — offering extended warranty systems from the leading manufacturers in the commercial and residential industries. The company will always be committed to serve each customer to the best of its ability, and takes pride in the long-standing relationships with numerous customers and accounts. The latest addition to the management team is Jesse, Jamie’s son. Since graduating from college in 2011, Jesse has teamed up with Chris in sales and project management on the residential side of the business. The future looks brighter than ever at West Side Roofing!
And the story continues as West Side Roofing continuously provides great roofing services to the Greater Cleveland area. West Side was honored to be profiled by one of their partners, Willoughby Supply Company, who wrote a nice article about The West Side Roofing story.
