Does West Side Roofing Offer Other Services Other Than Roofing?

Hi everybody is Ted Moss here again, and now I’m with Jesse from West Side Roofing – How are you today Jesse? Very good – How are you, Ted? Very good. This is our continuing video series on West Side roofing and what makes them great.

So we’re just going to kind of jump right in. I’ve got to kind of a before and after shot here which I think is pretty cool. Here’s a house. Looks like it’s got a lot of trees and stuff going on, and the roof looks like it’s in need of some repair.

Here’s your after and I think it’s just a little bit more than shingles isn’t it. It is. It is.

Obviously, you know they did a little bit of tree work before we got there but they kind of our full service: roofing, siding, and gutters. We started off with the roofing work. It was a complete tear off and reroof. Then we went to the siding and that was also a rip tear off and new siding system. We followed it up finally with the new gutter system. Yeah really good.

Now what kind of shingles are on there? Those are called a dimensional shingle which is more or less like a 30-year shingle. This client had an older style shingle which is like an old three tab, it was kind of outdated, it was definitely in need of a lot of improvement.

When we did the roof we did everything to the city and building codes. We had ice and water shield at the gutter edges and off the valleys and all the penetrations of the roof. Drip bins were in place around the whole house. We also upgraded to the ventilation as well. So we kind of tackled a lot, and this all came with a new roof.

What Does Ventilation Consist Of?

Yeah, that’s actually the ridge vent that’s a continuous arrangement at the peaks of the roof. And that again that helps get that hot air in the summertime out of your attic space and keeps the house nice and cool. I didn’t know that. OK, gotcha.

How Long Does Dimensional Shingles Last?

Now you mentioned dimensional shingles as opposed to the 3 tabs. How long do those last?

Usually, I’ve got three tabs going to be anywhere between 20- 25 years. Dimensional shingle is more like 30 years. When we install a new roof the first 10 years we give a 10-year workmanship warranty. So any issues for the first 10 years that’s on us. Now the roofs going to last a lot longer than that. But the first 10 years again that’s on us.

Okay. And as I said there’s siding on here you did that as well. Correct. And so you guys do more than just shingles you do siding? Yeah we do.

That’s pretty much they got our full work there. We had a roofing crew, a siding crew and then finally the gutter crew. So all of our guys and I was with them every step of the way. Saw everything through and I think it turned out pretty nice.

Very good. So they were basically able to take this before picture here and turn it into a really nice looking house. OK great. Well, I appreciate that. Listen we really appreciate it. I’m glad you came out today. We’ll be talking some more.
