Nearly every product in every industry has a warranty in one form or another, that lack of one is a cause for concern. When it comes to new roofing, however, having a warranty for the sake of having one isn't enough. In fact, the challenge is to provide exceptional, industry-leading roofing coverage to homeowners.

Types of Roofing Warranties

The ideal roofing warranty should cover two parts: material and workmanship. Material or factory warranty covers problems that may arise from factory defects, with the manufacturer processing the claims. Workmanship or installation warranties cover problems from installation errors, with the contractor fulfilling warranty claims. Coverage varies depending on the contractor, but some don't even offer it at all.

GAF Lifetime Limited Warranty

GAF Lifetime Limited Warranty differs from the competition, as it covers both material and workmanship. Thanks to the extensive and ongoing professional training we receive from GAF, our warranty work is consistent with their high roofing standards. The standards are so high that only 3% of all roofers across North America are qualified to offer the GAF Lifetime Limited Warranty, of which there are three levels:

1. Shingle and Accessory Limited Warranty – This is the standard GAF warranty, which covers up to 10 years material warranty and cost of installation labor, plus coverage for at least three qualifying roofing accessories such as deck protection, leak barriers, or attic ventilation.
2. System Plus Limited Warranty – Choosing the next level increases the material warranty coverage for up to 50 years, adds a two-year workmanship coverage, and covers the entire roofing system. Plus, coverage on the cost of installation labor is upgraded to Lifetime.
3. Golden Pledge® Limited Warranty – This is GAF's top-of-the line warranty coverage. On top of System Plus Limited Warranty coverage, the workmanship coverage is upgraded up to 25 years. Additionally, the cost for disposing discarded roofing material is covered.

All three warranty levels include coverage for up to 130 mph winds (equal to a Category 3 hurricane) and are transferable to the next owner. West Side Roofing serves Cleveland, Akron, and Parma, Ohio residents.
