How Your Attic Can Impact Your Roof

January 7, 2022

One of the first things we look at when we go to repair or replace any roof is to take a look at the attic. The attic is the foundation of the roof, and if it has any issues, the longevity of your roof is at stake.

The Importance of Proper Attic Ventilation

Attic ventilation is a crucial component of any roofing job. Without adequate ventilation, your roof is at risk for mold, and no one wants mold in their house.

The first step when we meet with the homeowner is to go up in their attic space and determine whether the situation is agreeable or if it needs some work. While in the attic, we also look at the condition of the wood. If the wood itself is in poor condition, we may have to make some repairs there as well. For example, a rotting attic ceiling is not a good foundation for any roof, new or old.

It can be hard for some homeowners to hear that they have mold in their attic, but it is important to know if it is there because it is unhealthy for you, your family and your home. At the same time, other customers knew about the mold beforehand. Either way, West Side Roofing speaks the language of mold remediation and can make sure that everything moves in the right direction.

If you want to have your roof repaired or replaced, know that we will be checking out the condition of your attic to ensure you’ll have a safe and long-lasting roof and home. Contact us at West Side Roofing for questions or to get started on your roof today.

The only hiccup was ,after I went to their office and paid in full with a cashier check.Days later I received a e mail asking for payment. I never received a apology for this!

They were prompt , very professional, cleaned up using a magnetic device so they didn’t leave a single nail behind. Even hung my plants back up for me without my asking !!!
