Siding, Roofing, and Chimney Cap Repair

September 17, 2024

We specialize in addressing complex roofing issues with thorough and effective solutions. Recently, we undertook a challenging project that involved siding, roofing, and chimney cap repair for a condo complex.

Project Overview: Siding, Roofing, and Chimney Cap Repair

When the maintenance manager of a condo complex contacted us about water intrusion issues, we knew it was a unique challenge. The problem was multifaceted, involving the roofing around the chimney, the siding, and the chimney cap itself. Our approach was comprehensive and meticulous to ensure a long-lasting solution.

Step-by-Step Repair Process

Fabricating a New Chimney Cap: The existing aluminum chimney cap was allowing water to seep in. We custom-fabricated a new cap to ensure no water could enter through the top of the chimney.
Siding Removal and Underlayment Installation: We temporarily removed the vinyl siding around the chimney box. This allowed us to install the proper underlayment, providing a solid barrier against water infiltration.
Roofing and Flashing Repair: We removed the shingles around the chimney and installed the correct underlayment and flashings. This step was crucial to prevent water from penetrating the roof at the junction with the chimney.

Importance of Proper Underlayment and Flashings

In Northeast Ohio, weather conditions can be harsh, with wind-driven rain, ice, and snow. Proper underlayment and flashings are essential safeguards against these elements. They ensure that water is kept out, protecting your home from potential damage and extending the life of your roofing system.

The only hiccup was ,after I went to their office and paid in full with a cashier check.Days later I received a e mail asking for payment. I never received a apology for this!
