It’s that time of year again. Fall is here now, but winter will soon be taking over. Now is the time to get all of your outdoor cleaning projects taken care of before that first snowfall. So what are some checklist items you need for your roof this season? 

Crossing Off Your List

Northeast Ohio is one of the top 10 worst climates in the United States. We get extreme heat and we also get extreme cold. We have a lot of leaf debris that comes off the roof and a lot of damage from torrential rainstorms. So what should you check first? 

We recommend checking your roof first and foremost. There will be a lot of debris from falling leaves, tree branches from high winds, and even debris from neighboring homes that occurs during wind storms. You can use a leaf blower to blow off all the debris from your roof so that it isn’t there for next season. 

The next thing you must check will be your gutters. You want to make sure your gutters are clean and clear as winter approaches. Once again, a lot of leaves will be cramming into your gutters and can cause possible leaks or roof damage.

Lastly, you want to check your chimney and soil pipes. These are key elements in your home that need to be cleared before the first snowfall. That way, your roof is nice and dry by the time Spring 2022 arrives.
